YAA Central Cycle 2 - Week 5: Exquisite Corpse

Program Description:

This week we will be exploring the concept of Cadavre Exquis or Exquisite Corpse, a favorite surrealist game from the mid-1920s onwards. This creative endeavor stimulates creativity through collaboration in a playful way. Building on the artistic styles explored through previous weeks, youth will have the opportunity to co-create an art piece. This collaborative project will build a sense of cohesion within the group through an expressive and fun project. 

Discussion Point: How was the experience of having full creative control over your portion of the piece, while having no idea what your group members were creating? Was this blend of known and unknown liberating or frustrating?
