Youth will take an image they resonate with and scale it down to its most basic form of creation on 5x7 mixed media paper with the use of ink, marker and colored pencils, using simple shapes and lines that invoke the essence of the image.

Forest Lawn Arts Programming Week 7: Collective Identity in Greater Forest Lawn

Program Description:

Weeks 6 and 7 will be a combined week where youth will be focusing on collective identity and what it means to live in the Greater Forest Lawn area. During week 6, youth will receive a small panel that they will begin to design that expresses what it means to be a part of this community. Focusing on the concepts of home, school, and play, youth will begin to create a panel. Week 7 will be a continuation of this project, where youth will either begin painting their panel or finish painting their panel, and then the panels will be placed together to create a small collective art piece to wrap up the 7-week program.
