Youth Arts Action Central Week 7: Nature and Our Place in this World

Free Calgary after-school program for youth ages 12-18.

Program Description:

This week the intention is to create an 8x10 art piece for the Exhibit that uses physical items found in nature to represent our place in the world. As a group, we will go on a mindful walk that brings awareness to our senses while we move. We will be collecting items for their art from the outdoors including dirt, leaves, or branches as needed.

The youth will be encouraged to be open to ideas that cross their minds as they may inspire the direction for their piece.

Discussion point: How can going on an intentional walk be used as a tool to manage emotions and process experiences? We will document this experience as part of a story-telling component for the exhibit.
