Week 1: DJ Gear Set Up

Program Description:

Theme: Preparing for new endeavors     
Weekly goal & lesson: Being in charge of the DJ set up at an event is a big responsibility and may be challenging sometimes. We will discuss how to handle difficult situations and how to manage frustration and encourage them to think out of the box for problem-solving.  This will encourage them to be self-confident and discuss the ways to create good habits in order to carry out different steps to the completion of a goal.     

DJ Activity: There will be a tutorial on how to Set up Speakers, Turntables, Dj mixers or controllers, and microphones. After that, the youth will get the opportunity to try it out themselves and might gain the skill of setting up DJ gear for Friday’s dance program. This will allow us to move on to next week’s topic which will be music selection and DJ software introduction.
