Forest Lawn Arts Programming Week 5: Storytelling Through Art Mediums

Program Description:

Week 5 will focus on storytelling through writing and art, with a focus on life perspectives, challenges, success, etc. The youth will have the opportunity to write a poem, short story, letter, etc., and then create an art piece based on what they wrote. Youth will be encouraged to share what they wrote with other youth, with the focus on creating a brave space to share their identity and perspective throughout their lives. This is an abstract piece that is open-ended and can be in any medium of their choice. The main goal is for youth to have an understanding of how stories shape who we are as individuals and impact others through how we perceive and identify with the world.
