Introducing: Jace
My name is Jace! I am a proudly queer, nuerodivergent, multi-media artist, educator, and mental health advocate. I have been creating and delivering original arts-based programming in Mohkínstsis and surrounding area, for just over ten years! I graduated with my Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Alberta University of the Arts, and am currently working towards my Masters in Counselling Psychology. I also work for the City of Calgary as an Arts Instructor, and as a casual Peer Support Worker for The Alex Community Health Center.
I create and teach art as a form of community care. I love bringing people together through conversation, collaboration, and storytelling. I have used art throughout my life to facilitate my own healing, and am now able to help others do the same.
My personal practice currently leans heavily on play, and explores themes like recovery, home, transness, and queer identity.
During this collectively strange and isolating time, I am looking forward to creating programming that allows for freedom, identity exploration, connection, and authentic self-expression. I’m excited, and honoured to be joining the team at Antyx.
