FOCUS Photo Camp Showcase!

In partnership with the Calgary Immigrant Women’s Association (CIWA) and Aspen Family, Antyx Community Arts Facilitators led “FOCUS” -- a two week photography camp catered towards teenage girls who have immigrated to Canada or are the children of immigrant parents themselves. The camp program was free to attend and offered young ladies an opportunity to explore beautiful downtown Calgary while learning and applying theories, techniques, and practices of professional photography. The camp’s activities also invited the girls to reflect on themes of inner & outer beauty, media stereotypes, and societal expectations through activities centred around crafts, spoken word poetry, and theatre games.

This August 25, 2017 from 230pm-330pm, come join us for a Youth Photography Show at the CIWA Offices (138 4th Ave SE) highlighting the students’ collection of photographs, words, and stories.
