Introducing Bryan Francisco!

Antyx Community Arts is very excited to welcome Bryan Francisco to our staff team as a new Community Arts Facilitator! He brings a wealth of experience as a facilitator and as a spoken word artist. He's a born-and-raised Calgarian with a life-long love of hip hop! He answered a few choice questions below for you to get to know him better.

If your personality were a film, what genre would it be?
My personality would be an action buddy-cop type of film with a little bit of film-noir thrown in. I say action because I take healthy risks that lead me to some fun adventures (some not so fun). I say buddy-cop because I like to think I’m at my best when I have chemistry around good people doing good things and because I like to laugh and not take life too seriously. And film-noir because mystery is sexy.

Pineapple on pizza. Yay or nay?
I was travelling in Japan once and ordered their “#1 pizza in the country”. It had mayonnaise, potatoes, and peas on it.  I’d like to take this time to address the divide between Hawaiian pizza proponents and opponents and suggest we put aside our petty differences and focus on combating evils such as this from taking place.

Best part of your life?
I get to see people of all ages and backgrounds become excited about their own stories, words, perspectives, and forms of expression.  Seeing youth (and sometimes adults) slowly come out of their shell and become empowered by themselves and connected with others is a thing of beauty and something I hope I never get tired of.
